Dr. Simon Donets, DPM
Dr. Simon Donets is a top-rated foot and ankle surgeon in the greater Chicago region, providing top-quality podiatry care for children and adults at Global Podiatry in Wheeling, IL and Lincolnwood, IL. Board-certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, Dr. Donets has been treating infections, injuries, deformities and other problems effecting the feet and ankles since 2002. Common conditions include bunions, hammertoes, arthritis, plantar warts, plantar fasciitis, neuromas, tendinitis, sprains, fractures (broken bones), fungal toenails, ingrown toenails, flat feet and pediatric foot care issues. He is skilled in both traditional and minimally-invasive approaches to ankle and foot surgery, including state-of-the-art approaches like arthroereisis for the treatment of flat feet and the correction of congenital foot deformities and gait abnormalities. The office also offers digital x-rays and diagnostic ultrasounds to enable patients to receive the full spectrum of care without the need to schedule these procedures elsewhere.

After earning his bachelor’s degree at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Dr. Donets completed his medical degree in podiatric medicine from Scholl College at Rosalind Franklin University – Chicago Medical, followed by a podiatry residency at Loretto Hospital and the Same Day Surgery Network, where he specialized in foot surgery. In addition to caring for patients at Global Podiatry, Dr. Donets is appointed to the faculty and medical staff in the North Shore University Healthcare System’s Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Advocate Lutheran General and the Same Day Surgery Network.
Dr. Donets enjoys having the opportunity to treat new patients at Global Podiatry, and the locations offer office hours seven days a week, with Saturday hours at the Wheeling location and Sunday hours at the practice in Lincolnwood. He speaks English, Spanish, and Russian. The practice accepts hundreds of insurance plans, including Advocate and Northshore based HMOs.

Growing up in Milwaukee, WI, I was raised a die-hard Green Bay Packer fan. However, after moving to Chicago and starting podiatry school, I met my wife and she convinced me I could root for the Packers no matter where I live! Together, we had one important passion in common – Family. So we made sure to live in close proximity to all of our loved ones. We have three beautiful daughters and everyone else comes over for Football Sunday.
Outside of podiatry, I love to play basketball and created a pick-up league in 2013. Proud to say we are still playing weekly!
Also, though funny to call it a hobby, but I also love to build things around the house out of wood – in particular organizational items like closet organizers, drawer dividers, etc.
I’m the handyman at home and the office, though I wouldn’t want it any other way!
